2011 Dallas Auto Show Dates Have Been Announced

2011 Dallas Auto Show Dates Have Been Announced
The 2011 Dallas Auto Show will run April 6-10, 2011, at the Dallas Convention Center.
One of the most anticipated annual events in the Metroplex, the Dallas Auto Show is the ideal opportunity for consumers to compare styling and pricing of every major line make under one roof in just a few hours. The Dallas Auto Show was conceived in 1982, and now boasts more than half a million square feet of new cars, trucks and SUVs at the Dallas Convention Center.

The 2011 Dallas Auto Show Media Day will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Dallas Convention Center. The day will be comprised of exciting product introductions from some of the major manufacturers. All media are invited to attend this exciting and informative day.

Media Day
For admittance to the Dallas Auto Show on days other than Media Day, media must receive credentials from the staff in the Show Office at the Dallas Convention Center. Media members must present photo IDs along with business cards from their respective media outlets.

Ft. Worth Auto Show (Greater Tarrant County Auto Show)

As of yet we have not have a 2011 date for the Ft. Worth (Greater Tarrant County Auto Show) Auto Show.  The Ft. Worth Auto Show also known as the Greater Tarrant County Auto Show has not released its 2011 date yet but it’s usually the weekend after the Dallas Auto Show.  As more information on the Dallas and Ft. Worth Auto Shows become available we will let you know.

We are also not sure what Infiniti plans to do for the 2011 Auto Show circuit or their specific plans for Dallas or Ft. Worth Auto Shows.  This past year at the 2010 Ft. Worth Auto Show we brought out the 2011 Infiniti M but did not participate in the Dallas Auto Show.

Photo Gallery from Top Speed Luxury Auto Meet Up

This past weekend (April 10th from Noon – 4pm) I went out to the Top Speed Auto Luxury Car Show in Addison, TX to meet with DFW area luxury car enthusiasts and to show everyone the 2010 Infiniti G37S.

The weather was perfect for taking the top down and I was able to meet the owners of Top Speed and a number of participants in the auto show. Similar to other luxury auto shows; Nissan and Infiniti were well represented and there were also Lamborghinis, Mustangs and a handful of other modified cars. Top Speed provided drinks and Taquitos and Hooters of Addison made an appearance with some wings and two Hooters Girls to pass out coupons and add to the festivities. The high performance energy drink company, NOS (a spin on Nitrous Oxide), was in attendance as well and gave out lots of free samples. On a side note – I am actually drinking one right now and have noticed a remarkable increase in my words per minute while typing.

Grubbs Infiniti wanted to be a part of the Top Speed Auto Show because we wanted to show our commitment and support of local auto shows. Another reason why we wanted to participate in a local DFW auto show is that with missing the Dallas Auto Show and only attending the Ft. Worth Auto Show it’s really important for local dealers such as Grubbs Infiniti to get out and see our customers and owners in environments outside the dealership. We have some great new models coming out and we decided that it made sense to bring out a 2010 Infiniti G37S Convertible for those in attendance to take a look at. We were not able to let anyone test drive the G37 Convertible at the meet up but you are more than welcome to come by the dealership and take one for a spin.

2011 Infiniti QX Makes Debut on Facebook

The new 2011 Infiniti QX will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show on Wednesday, March 31st and the Internet has been buzzing with pictures, blog posts and lots of excitement for the big announcement.   The 2011 Infiniti QX56 is taking a new path and being built on the Nissan Patrol platforms versus Nissan Armada platform that it previously was built upon.  The QX56 still have considerable power and has room for 8. Powering the new QX is a 5.6-liter, 400-hp V8–an increase of 80 hp over the 2010 QX. A seven-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous five-speed unit. According to Infiniti, fuel economy increases by more than 10 percent in the new model.

Fueling the buzz about the 2011 Infiniti QX launch is that Infiniti is going to be showing the debut from the New York Auto Show live on the Infiniti Facebook page. This is just one of the live events that I have personally heard about taking place on Facebook this week. The other is a non automotive event but none the less it’s very interesting to see Facebook getting involved with live event coverage.

Infiniti announced a few days ago that they will be covering the debut of the 2011 Infiniti QX56 from the New York Auto Show live on their Facebook page. Here is the announcement:

We are revealing the all-new 2011 Infiniti QX next week at the New York International Auto Show. The global reveal to the media will be Wednesday, March 31st at 10am ET and will be sharing via live Facebook webcast, hosted just for our Facebook fans!

At Grubbs Infiniti we are excited to see what the new 2011 Infiniti QX looks like and can’t wait to get them onto the showroom floor.  The Infiniti QX is the largest of the Infiniti SUVs and is the only model that doesn’t have the rounded look of the EX / FX line of vehicles.

While we can’t host our own live stream on our Grubbs Infiniti Facebook Page we will be on our desktops watching the Infiniti Facebook Page and wishing we were actually at the New York Auto Show. It looks to be a great one this year.

Geneva Highlight – Infiniti M35 Hybrid

The Infiniti M35 Hybrid is getting a lot of attention at the Geneva AutoShow taking place this week in Switzerland.  The M35 is the first hybrid from Infiniti and is being touted by the automotive community as one of the first performance hybrids.   The Infiniti M35 was rigorously tested in the United States while being readied to take on the it’s European competitors, the BMW 5 series and the Mercedes Benz E class.

The reviews from the Geneva AutoShow so far have been very favorable of the Infiniti M35 Hybrid and we at Grubbs Infiniti have been keeping track of what’s being said and are very excited for the M35 Hybrid to come to our showroom sometime in 2011.
