At Grubbs Infiniti we have been “inspired” by the marketing campaign and partnership developed between Infiniti and the NCAA. At Grubbs Infiniti we have been working to integrate the components of the National Infiniti campaign with our local efforts and have enjoyed doing so.
Infiniti Encouraging Dealer Participation in NCAA Bracket Challenge
Infiniti encouraged employees of dealerships nationwide to participate in the Bracket Challenge and set up an internal contest that each dealership could participate in. In the non Infiniti employee Bracket Challenge the winner received a 2011 Infiniti M. I was disappointed to learn that I can’t win the 2011 Infiniti M but at least I can beat my co-workers .
At Grubbs Infiniti the “Bracket Challenge” was announced at our February monthly meeting and was greeted with some good smack talking and predictions on who is going to have the best bracket.
Update on Infiniti Dallas Bracket
The stakes were not too high in the Infiniti Dealership NCAA Bracket Challenge but the winner’s dealership receives a catered lunch compliments of Infiniti. George Grubbs III was leading the Bracket Challenge through the Sweet Sixteen but got knocked out of the top rankings going into the Elite 8. Most of us made the same mistake and picked Kansas to win the entire tournament but after they were upset most of our brackets fell apart.
After taking a look at the results on Tuesday morning after the Duke win over Butler it looks like Grubbs Infiniti came close (like Butler) but didn’t win the Bracket Challenge. Steve Malley, Finance Director at Grubbs Infiniti, finished second but was beat out by Mike Wise who I believe is at Crest Infiniti. Congratulations to Mike, Steve and of course Duke and Butler.
Not sure that a 5 seed like Butler is really a “true” Cinderella story but it was very impressive to watch them take on the traditional basketball powerhouse, the Duke Blue Devils. Duke came into the tournament a #1 seed and if the past is any predictor of the future, #1 seeds have done well the past few years. True underdogs, like my alma mater, George Mason, don’t have too much of a chance against #1 seeds like Duke who could put in their second string players and fair well. But we always love an underdog vs traditional powerhouse. Ratings wise, a traditional powerhouse against an underdog can really get some viewers. However, a Duke vs North Carolina finals or game between two traditional powerhouses would fair better with the TV viewing audience.

On Facebook we have developed a custom tab that highlights Infiniti’s sponsorship of the “Bracket Challenge” and the opportunity for a lucky winner to win a 2011 Infiniti M.
