Keeping Your Infiniti Clean In Dallas

Lets face it, cars aren’t cheap, especially Infiniti’s! If you live in Dallas, or in Euless, Texas  like we do, then you know that it can sometimes be a pain to keep your new Infiniti clean. Now, we do understand that you can always take your Infiniti to get detailed somewhere but if you are the adventurous kind and want to go at it alone, there are some things you need to consider, so keep reading!

First, lets talk about the proper wash sequence. Now I know that may sound a little silly but there are reasons behind this, reasons that will become apparent and will aid you in doing things right, and if I know Infiniti owners in and around Dallas, and I do, I know you will appreciate this.

Wash Sequence

  • Start on the inside, then work your way to the outside. The biggest reason for this is because you don’t want to get the dust, dirt and grime that comes from cleaning the interior to get on your newly cleaned exterior. Have you ever banged the dirt off your floor mats? If so, you know what I mean. So, detail the inside first!
  • When it comes to washing:
    • Clean the wheel first, this will prevent you from getting any back splash on your newly cleaned Infiniti.
    • Next, start at the top and wash the roof, second, clean all the windows.
    • Then, was the hood and the truck followed by the doors and fenders.
    • Most pros use wash mitts, to be safe you should have more than one on hand in-case you drop one, if you do, make sure that you wash it out first, or use your spare so you don’t inadvertently scratch your paint with any dirt or gravel that has stuck to the wash mitt.
    • Be sure not to use the same mitt you used to clean the wheels to wash the rest of your Infiniti.
    • While rinsing your vehicle you should employ the sheeting method. That is, rinse the surfaces by holding the hose (without a sprayer attached) about an inch or two above the surface of your Infiniti, this well enable the water to flow off in a sheeting action, limiting the number of droplets left behind. This will make drying a snap and will limit water spots in the Dallas Sun.
  • Drying: DO NOT use cotton towels, if you are serious about doing this right look for waffle weave microfiber cloths, this will prevent any micro scarring of your Infiniti’s finish.
  • A word about car wash solution, don’t use dish detergent! Use a high quality CAR WASH brand.

Cleaning Glass

To clean your glass you should use a waffle weave microfiber cloth, but make sure it’s not the same one you used to dry your Infiniti. If you have to, mark one with the letter “g” so you know which one to use on your glass.

Best New Cars for 2011 – 2011 Infiniti M Makes the Cut

At Grubbs Infiniti we have been very excited about the 2011 Infiniti M for awhile now.  We think it’s a great addition to the 2011 offering from Infiniti.  Apparently we are not the only ones.  U.S. News and World Report has added it to their short list of Best New Cars fro 2011. Here is what they had to say:

If you’re looking to make a splash with your next car, consider an all-new 2011 model. Many of the most exciting 2011s are already on dealer lots or readily available for pre-order. Since these are brand new or redesigned from the ground up, chances are most people have never seen them before. Plus, manufacturers are already offering incentives on most of these models to get the buzz going and get people into showrooms.

Buy one of these cool 2011 cars and you’re sure to get a great car at a great deal — not to mention a few jealous stares next time you’re cruising down the highway.

2011 Infiniti M
Starting Price: $46,250 Incentives: 2.9% APR for up to 60 months on M37 trims; Expires 6/30/10

Long overshadowed by rivals like the BMW 5-Series, the Infiniti M has never received much attention. But it’s a different story for 2011 — Infiniti has redesigned the M, and it’s now one of the best-performing full-size luxury sedans. The new model adds more power, sharper handling, and more luxurious interior materials. It also boasts a new look that’s difficult to ignore. Some reviewers love the look, while others think it’s hideous. Either way, the 2011 M is sure to get you noticed.

The M is also big on technology. Its suite of high-tech safety features include a blind spot warning system that will actually take over steering in order to avoid a collision. There’s also a class-exclusive, optional “Forest Air” system that varies the vent fan speed in order to replicate the effects of a breeze. Engineers say it can even detect and neutralize cabin odors.

2011 M56s Car Review

If you want to break from the traditional luxury sport sedan, but still want something that performs and looks great, you should definitely consider the 2011 Infiniti M56S. For 2011, the M56S boasts about a 70 horsepower increase, more sculpted exterior lines, and user-friendly interior updates. In layman’s terms, the ‘11 M6 S was re-designed, both inside and out.

Under the hood, the M56S is a beast. It is powered by a 5.6L VVEL direct-injection V8 mated to a 7-speed transmission that produces 420 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 417 lb-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. Fuel economy with this paring is surprisingly not atrocious, and on the highway, it could be considered downright good. Expected values are 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Infiniti also realized that there are many different types of drivers that could be drawn to the M56 and of course, there are always different types of driving conditions. There is a knob that tailors the driving experience to the driver’s desire as well as the road conditions. Choosing between sport, standard, economy, and snow settings changes the mapping for the transmission, engine, and traction. Also, If you and your spouse or family member are sharing the Infiniti M56S, the iKey (“intelligent key”) saves you the frustration of constantly having to re-adjust the seat and mirror settings by remembering specific individual settings for multiple drivers.

The basic M56 starts at a base price of $56,550 but the upgrades for the optional sport package and optional deluxe interior package brought the price up to $64,065.

Topless: 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible

InsideLine Video produced a nice piece about the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible that we wanted to share.

Here is a link to the video.

Drop the Top

And the top is the story of this car. Less than 30 seconds is all it takes to transform what is basically a G37 hardtop (no B-pillar or fixed side glass) into a wide-mouth convertible. Just push the button on the center console and hold. All the work is done by a team of electric motors that hum while they work, peeling back the car’s roof from the windshield header, splitting it into three evenly sized pieces and stacking it clamshell-style in the car’s trunk.

It’s a true marvel of engineering, with countless hinges, double-hinges and pulleys, but unlike Lexus, which does its retractable hardtop for the SC 430 in house, Nissan has had its system engineered in Germany by Karmann. It uses steel roof panels and is installed on a sub-assembly line at Nissan’s plant in Tochigi, Japan, the same facility that produces the G37 coupe and sedan.

But there’s more to the G’s transformation from coupe to convertible than just the roof and its complex mechanism. Infiniti reinforced the car’s A-pillar, door sills and overall body structure. Oh, and dual pop-up anti-rollover bars deploy if the machine’s big brain thinks it’s heading for the upside-down. According to Larry Dominique, Nissan North America’s vice president of product planning, the active roll bars were an aesthetic choice: “They kept us from having to put in an ugly hoop brace.”

Remodel of Customer Lounge

Remodel of Customer Lounge
Even though we don’t like our customers to be waiting around the dealership for too long when they are are here we want them to be as comfortable as they can be. This is why we are in the process of remodeling our customer lounge area (I won’t call it a “waiting area” because personally I hate to wait.

We already have Starbuck’s coffee and WiFi… but will be adding a nice LCD TV for you to watch while you enjoy your time with us (see.. I didn’t say “wait”).
